Resolving NSR peer information errors
While running a backup you may see in the savegroup completion report.
nsrexecd: SYSTEM error: There is already a machine using the name: "hosta". Either choose a different name for your machine, or delete the "NSR peer information" entry for "hosta" on host: "hostb"
You may also see the above after the NetWorker client upgraded with the same host name which created a duplicate NSR peer information for the client.
These errors are seen in the savegroup completion report, in the daemon log file, and occasionally when configuring a new NetWorker client:
- nsrexecd SYSTEM error: There is already a machine using the name: "schlumpf". Either choose a different name for your machine, or delete the "NSR peer information" entry for "schlumpf" on host: "smurf"
- Authentication warning: Conflicting NSR peer information resources detected for host 'schlumpf'. Please see server log for more information.
- Security certificate used to sign this software does not match your known certificates
The quickest way to resolve this
- Delete the NSR Peer Information of the NetWorker Server on the client/storage node,
- Then delete the NSR Peer Information for the client/storage node from the NetWorker Server.
Using the following steps to delete the NSR peer information on NetWorker Server and on the Client.
- At NetWorker server command line, go to the location /nsr/res
- Type the command:
nsradmin -p nsrexec print type:nsr peer information; name:client_name delete y
Specify the name of the client/storage node in the place of client_name.
- At the client/storage node command line, go to the location /nsr/res
- Type the command:
nsradmin -p nsrexec print type:nsr peer information delete y
