Opening Local Firewall Ports on Windows 2008 Server

  1. Go to Start => Programs => Administrative Tools => Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
  2. Click on Inbound Rules , New Rule , Select Port
  3. Click Next
  4. Select whether the port is UDP or TCP , select Specified Local Ports and type the port number which you want to open
  5. Click Next
  6. Select Allow the connection option
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Next
  9. Type the Name of the port
  10. Click Finish.
