Downloading the CloudBoost encryption keys

At the earliest opportunity, download and securely store your CloudBoost encryption keys so they will be available in the event you need to recover your system from a backup.

It is best to download your encryption keys as soon as possible, though you can download them at any time. You must securely store the downloaded encryption keys separately from the location of any backed up objects. You will use these keys if you ever need to recover your system from a backup.

WARNING: There is no way to retrieve your encryption keys after a system failure.

Procedure

  1. Use a Web browser to log in to the CloudBoost virtual appliance at https://<FQDN>:444, where <FQDN> is your fully qualified domain name, and then click Support in the top menu., The Support page opens.
  2. Next to Encryption Keys, provide and confirm a strong password to protect the key file.
  3. Click Download Encryption Keys. The keys are downloaded.
  4. Securely store the downloaded encryption keys separately from the location of any backed up objects.
