License changes for NetWorker Module for Oracle RAC

For clients configured to use NetWorker Module for Oracle in a RAC, only one NetWorker Module for Oracle license is required for the cluster, regardless of the number of RAC hosts performing the backup. However, there are some licensing differences between 7.4.x versions.

NetWorker 7.4.3 and later

  • For RAC on Linux, UNIX or Windows: One NMO license is required for the cluster, regardless of the number of RAC hosts performing the backup.

NetWorker 7.4, 7.4.1 and 7.4.2

  • For RAC on Linux: One NMO license is required for each RAC host performing the backup. If the customer uses multiple hosts to perform the backup, then multiple NMO licenses are required.
  • For RAC on UNIX or Windows: One NMO license is required for the cluster, regardless of the number of RAC hosts performing the backup.
