Moving the NetWorker Management Console to a new server

Have you ever come across a situation where you need to move the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) to another server as it has outgrown it's current resources or run out disk space and you can't extend it anymore; Follow these simple steps to move the NMC database to a new server:

  1. Install the NetWorker Management Console on the new server. NOTE: When installing, choose new database to create a default database and update configuration files.
  2. Stop the NetWorker Management Console on the new server server is running
  3. Delete the files in the lgto_gstdb directory.
  4. From the old server, move the lgto_gst.db and lgto_gst.log file to the lgto_gstdb directory of the new server.
  5. Restart the NetWorker Management Console server.
  6. Take a backup of the NMC database on the new server
